FAQ

Where are you located?

As of February 2017, I’m living in Washington, DC! I make frequent trips to my husband’s hometown in Hawaii and am up for traveling anywhere in the world! I’ve visited 30+ countries and hope to visit many many more!

What is your photography style?

In short, my photography motto is: Soft. Romantic. Real.

I love to capture real moments in time and think of myself as a documentary photographer with a romantic flare. I looove dreamy backlit portraits, soft neutral tones, and airy natural light. Those breathy sun-soaked shots are what I live for.

On your big day, I make it my job is to capture beautiful moments as they happen. When you look back on your photos, I want you to feel like you’re seeing your story as it actually unfolded.

For your portrait sessions, I’m more hands on, directing you into the most natural poses and flattering light.

What is your pricing?

Will you travel to my location?

Absolutely! I love traveling to new places and would be so excited to share your special day with you anywhere in the world. Please contact me so we can chat about my travel pricing.

OMG I'm getting married. Now what?

First of all, YAY! Secondly, I wrote a blog post with a few tips and tricks that helped me in my own wedding planning process and hopefully they’ll help you too! Check it out on my travel blog, Roses on the Road.

Should I do an engagement session?

Yes! On your wedding day, we’ll be spending a ton of time together (probably more than any other vendor!) and it’s important that we build a relationship beforehand so you look and act comfortably in front of the camera. Since I shoot documentary style photographs, I try to blend into the background, capturing moments as if there’s no camera in the room at all. Having an engagement session beforehand is great practice for acting naturally on the big day.

What should I wear to my engagement session?

Wear whatever makes you feel beautiful! Is that your favorite silk gown and heels? Skinny jeans and a statement necklace? Whatever makes you feel like you! Some suggestions:

  • Try picking an outfit you’d wear on date night
  • Don’t be too matchy-matchy with your partner (e.g. no identical patterns, colors, etc)
  • Choose clothes in the same tone family
  • Avoid clothes with visible logos

Since I’m a fan of outdoor photography, we’ll probably do a fair amount of walking, so make sure you bring comfy shoes to change into.

How many photos will I receive?

I don’t limit the number of photos you receive. As documentary photographer, I don’t want to cap the number of photos it takes to tell your complete story. After the wedding, I look through each photo individually and thoughtfully select a collection of images that best capture the memory of your day. You’ll receive the professionally edited high-res version of those images.

Please note that I do not share unedited, RAW images. You’ll get all the important stuff, minus any unflattering outtakes.

How soon will I see photos?

I send a special sneak peak photo within a day or two, and then all photos will be edited and delivered within 4-6 weeks after your wedding or photo session.

Why did you get into wedding photography?

Short answer? I love love! I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve looked through my own wedding photos and just melted into a puddle on the living room couch reminiscing about that amazing day. If I could share that same feeling with you, I will have done my job.

How do I book you?

Contact me so we can set up a time to chat via Skype/Facetime. Once you’re ready to book, all weddings and photo sessions require a non-refundable 50% down payment and signed contract to reserve your date.
